On Friday the 16th at Monongalia County Courthouse Square, several students. Parents, teachers and principals helped gather donations for the Pantry Plus More program.

The Pantry Plus More program collects non-perishable items and money to go to these pantries. These pantries are located in elementary and middle schools. They allow for students to get food and basic necessities that they might not be able to get at home.

"And what this has started for is going towards food pantries plus more in 2 elementary and 2 middle schools. That's just the beginning. We are planning on getting it into every elementary and middle school. It's just helping those students who gives them an extra edge when they don't have those things at home." says County Commissioner Tom Bloom

Several WVU students, local teachers, and principals were there helping to collect donations along with the Mountaineer and Cooper the Black Bears mascot.
