Parent company of Fairmont Regional Medical Center announces closure of two hospitals

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. (WDTV) -- Two hospitals are expected to close in the coming months, employees learned Wednesday.

Alecto Healthcare Services purchased the Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling, W.Va. and Martins Ferry, Ohio in January 2017, according to WTOV.

The company also owns Fairmont Regional Medical Center in Marion County.

A press release said the pair of hospitals have lost more than $37 million over the past two years.
