Parents arrested after 3 children were found with no clothes & alone in Clarksburg

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WDTV)-- The parents of three young children were arrested after their children, a 2-year-old, a 3-year-old and a 4-year old, were found wandering around alone in Clarksburg.

According to the criminal complaint, police responded to to Duff Ave where they found the children without their parents.

Police say when they arrived they found the children dirty and without clothes.

Officers say the 4-year-old's diaper was full of feces that were also dried up down his leg. They also saw the 3-year-old carrying a serrated blade steak knife.

According to the criminal complaint, when police spoke with the mother, Sarah Nardo, she said that she and her boyfriend, Donald Johnson were asleep when the kids wondered out.

Police who found the children say the kids were located about 0.3 miles away from their home and were unattended for about 25 minutes.

Child protective services were contacted about the incident.

Nardo and Johnson have been charged with child neglect creating a risk of injury.
