UPDATE: A suspect has been arrested in connection with the Marion County shooting

FAIRMONT, W.Va. (WDTV) -- UPDATE
A Taylor County man has been arrested in connection with a shooting in Marion County on Thursday.

Adam Royce, 31, was observed leaving the area of the scene on surveillance video.

Detectives were able to determine his address. A search warrant for his residence was obtained and executed with the assistance of the Taylor county Sheriff’s department.

The suspect was not home when the search took place, but evidence was obtained from the search and is currently being processed.

Fairmont police located Royce’s vehicle and a search warrant of the vehicle will be executed today.

Royce was charged with attempted 1st-degree murder and it now in jail pending arraignment

A man was found with a gunshot wound to the neck after Marion County deputies responded to shooting early Thursday morning.

According to the press release from the Marion County Sheriff's Department, they responded to a shooting at Unity Terrace Apartments on Leonard Ave in Fairmont.

When police arrived on scene, they found 24-year-old Delron Waring with a gunshot wound to the neck.

Waring was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital. His condition is not known.

The investigation is still ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Marion County Sheriff's Dept.
