BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. (WDTV) - Outdoor weekend plans are likely not a good idea with rain sticking around for just about all of the weekend. Showers started late yesterday evening with thunderstorms in the area, and have continued all day Saturday. Heading into tonight, the rain will continue with the moderate to heavy bands of showers staying east of I-79.
Flooding is not anticipated at this time, but rain will continue tomorrow as well. Showers will finally begin to dry up by late afternoon and early evening. Sunshine returns Monday only to give way to more rain possible in the overnight hours of Monday into Tuesday. A series of low and high-pressure systems will be battling it out this week bringing rain chances during the overnight hours of the next few days. Temperatures will warm through the week back into the mid and upper 70's.
