BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. (WDTV) - Record highs for February will be 'smashed' on Tuesday. Record highs will be broken by many degrees. Frequently, record highs get tied or broken by a degree or two. This is more common. The degree to which we will break records Tuesday is rare.
A combination of factors is coming together. The main one being a low-pressure system approaching. Southwest winds in advance of this bring warmer air north. In addition, faster wind speeds just above ground level (centered around 5,000 feet up) bring more heat and greater temperature potential with them.
Sunshine is also a big factor. We should see a good deal of it. This is also in conjunction with dry conditions (aka, no rain).
