Rivesville man charged after taking money from cash register

A tussle over crab legs led to arrests in Huntsville, AL

MONONGALIA COUNTY, W.Va. (WDTV) -- A Rivesville man was arrested after jumping over a counter to steal money from a cash register.

According to the criminal complaint, 35-year-old Christopher Figueroa entered the Sheetz on University Avenue in Morgantown on Thursday. Officials say Figueroa was standing by the counter when an employee opened a cash register drawer while helping a customer. Figueroa allegedly "lunged" over the counter when the drawer opened, grabbed a handful of cash, and fled.

Officials say evidence shows that the robbery was preplanned.

Figueroa is charged with entering without breaking and conspiracy.
