BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. (WDTV) -- Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, R-WV, announced her intentions to seek reelection in 2020.

She was elected as West Virginia's first female senator in 2014. She represented West Virginia's 2nd district in the House from 2001 until she was elected to the Senate.

Her campaign released a 2020 announcement video Thursday morning, touting her work in Washington on job creation, securing the U.S. border, and tax reform.

The video also features President Trump praising the senator at one of his Make America Great Again rallies.

"We've accomplished a lot," Capito said in the video. "We've set West Virginia on a stronger, more promising course. It's just the beginning of what I know we can accomplish together. That's why I'm excited and eager to continue working for you by announcing my campaign for reelection in 2020."
