Authorities have arrested one suspect accused of being involved in the shooting death of another man earlier this month.
According to a press release from the Office of the Chief of Police in Fairmont, 25-year-old Devon Stephens, of Fairmont, was taken into custody Tuesday night.
The shooting incident happened on November 17th on Watson Avenue. When authorities arrived on the scene they found 27-year-old Malcolm Whitted, of Detroit, lying in an apartment with multiple gunshot wounds. He later died as a result of his injuries.
Authorities say drugs were involved in this incident. Upon further investigation police were able to identify at least five people involved, three active home invasion robbers who went into the house and two drivers.
The victim appears to have been targeted and the general public is not in any danger.
Stephens is charged with First Degree murder and is awaiting arraignment at the North Central Regional Jail.
