"Singing for a Miracle" raises money for WVU Children's Hospital

Lewis County, W. Va. (WDTV) - Local country artist Jeffrey Wayne played original music and some classic covers while those in attendance enjoyed food and refreshments, all of the proceeds going to WVU Children's Hospital.

"I'm a paramedic too, that's my full time job, so I try to help people out as much as I can," said Wayne, who's album with Mon Hills Records will debut in the fall.

Money donated during the fundraiser will go towards supplying children with live-saving medical treatment and equipment.

"It helps them get equipment that they may need that their insurance won't supply for the family, or that the family just can't afford," Marlene Clark, an organizer for the event, said.

Last year the event raised over ten thousand dollars for the cause.

Fundraisers for the Children's Miracle network are held at Walmart stores all across the state and the county. If you missed today's event you can always donate in-store to the cause.
