BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. (WDTV) - Colder, heavier air retreating cannot be easily dislodged by warmer, lighter air. The cold air "sticks" in the valleys longer and the warmer air rides over top. This means that rain and drizzle can fall into these low spots and freeze on contact.
