Student arrested after allegedly punching assistant principal

PRESTON COUNTY, W.Va (WDTV) - An 18-year-old student at Preston High School was arrested and charged with a felony after allegedly punching an assistant principal.

Deputies say James Metz punched Assistant Principal David Murray on Friday. Sheriff Dan Loughrie tells 5 News the student and his girlfriend were in the hallways when Murray told them to go back to class.

Police say the student hit him in the chest and face, dislodging his sinuses. After he was hit, he fell to the ground.
