Tasty Tuesday: Crab Shack Caribba
"It's not just a restaurant. We are providing an experience."
Bron Kayal opened his first Crab Shack restaurant in 2013 on Collin's Ferry Road in Morgantown.
"I decided that a seafood destination restaurant was something that was needed in Morgantown and that's where it all started," said Kayal.
The first restaurant has since moved to the Suncrest Town Center and a second Crab Shack Caribba is located on Cheat Lake. This year mark's the restaurant's 5 year anniversary and over time, the Crab Shack has gained a loyal customer base.
"We love the environment, it's always a lot of fun and we have a great time here. The food is always great and the customer service is always fabulous," said Joeli Olson.
"Friendly staff, great service; we have an awesome time every time we come here," said Todd Olson.
While seafood is the star of the show, the menu features a wide variety of food including chicken, burgers, and pizza. There's also a stocked bar, daily specials, and live music throughout the week.
Kayal gives a lot of credit to his team of talented chefs for their role in creating such an expansive menu.
"My head-chef Erica, who oversees both kitchen operations, has over 20 years of experience working in resorts and fine dining so she brings a lot to the table," Kayal said.
At Crab Shack, customers can feel free to kick back, relax, and enjoy a beach-like dining experience without leaving town.
"People come in and they're like 'Wow, this is in Morgantown? It feels like I am on vacation,' that's the type of experience I want to provide and that's what makes me the happiest," said Kayal.
