Tasty Tuesday: Miller's Eats and Sweets
A woman from Preston County turned some of her children's favorite meals into her own business.
With comfort dishes and even an in-house bakery, two years ago, Miller's Eats and Sweets now gives Preston County a new dining option.
When Jeremiah Harmon was a kid, his house was the place to go.
"All my friends would come over on the weekends and hang out and in the morning she would make these big elaborate breakfasts for 15 kids," Harmon said.
His mom, Kelly Miller, owns Miller's Eats and Sweets. Harmon says his mom was like a mom to not only him, but other kids in the area.
"For as far back as I can remember, even in high school, she was pretty much the local group mother," said Harmon.
Harmon says she was always busy in the kitchen, making almost everything from scratch. In a smaller community near Kingwood and only about 20 minutes from Morgantown, he says it was an addition to the community.
"This brings something new to the community," Harmon said. "It was something I think the community needed."
There's a mix of everything, between lunch food and a bunch of different desserts. They have a variety of specials throughout the week.
"Club sandwich is a huge seller," Harmon said. "My wife, everytime we're here, it's what she gets."
"The pizza is a really big seller," he said. "They do that one a couple times a month and that's usually a really, really busy day."
