BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - In case you didn't know, Tuesday is National Pancake Day!
Whether you call them flapjacks or pancakes, it's a classic food that can be eaten for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
We visited IHOP to learn more about not only their menu, but how National Pancake Day is helping the community.
"Everything is customized," said manager Michael Mercadante. "You can customize anything on the menu but you can honestly get a little bit of everything. When you get a burger, for your side you can get pancakes."
Mercadante says they've continued to sell more burgers in addition to their popular pancakes. Going to IHOP isn't just for the meal -- it's an entire experience. You can get pancakes with faces on them or even stuffed with Oreos.
"The Oreo pancake is highly being bought as a dessert," he said. "Not just as a breakfast item, but they also get it as a side order too."
It's great for kids at heart! The deal for free pancakes is a short stack, but they accept donations too. Proceeds will go to the Children's Miracle Network.
"We give back to that," he said. "And any proceeds that we get today for any of the donations, all proceeds go back to the Childrens Miracle Network for the children's medicine."
In fact, any day at IHOP is about having fun.
"This is the busiest day of the year," Mercadante said. "With foot traffic, there's a lot of people that come to our restaurant not only to enjoy our great food, but to also have fun."
