The Lewis County Sheriff's Department makes multiple drug-related arrests

LEWIS COUNTY, W.Va. (WDTV) -- The Lewis County Sheriff’s Department made a series of arrests on Wednesday morning for drug-related offenses.

Police worked to round-up multiple people who have been charged with a variety of drug-related offenses, including both the buying and selling of a controlled substance.

The Lewis County Sheriff says his ultimate goal is to clean up the streets and help people get off of drugs.

Sheriff Adam Gissy says "We feel that by being proactive in our enforcement, it will only help us clean up our community. Are we going to be able to arrest our way out of it? No, the reality of it is we aren't going to be able too, but this is an element that we can do moving forward to make it better."

If you have any tips on drug-related activity in your area, you are asked to call your local sheriff’s department.
