Turning colder late this week. Snow will return to the mountains at some point. Could there be any accumulation?

BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. (WDTV) - Our next storm system arrives late this week. Initially, rain is what we get on Thursday. This storm will pass, getting stronger as it does, rain turns to snow in the higher terrain as colder air filters in.

We should at least see a few flurries for most locations at some point Friday morning. However, snow levels probably above 2,500 feet for much of that time frame. A few inches of snow may fall on the highest of elevations. The lower terrain probably doesn't get any accumulation as rain will turn to flurries too late in the day.

It will also get WINDY on Friday. As the storm system gets stronger, the pressure gradient will increase. This is what causes high wind speeds. A large difference in pressure over a relatively short distance. High-pressure returns for the weekend. Sunshine will return.
