Two charged after being found with marijuana

MONONGALIA COUNTY, W.Va. (WDTV) -- Two people have been charged after being found with marijuana during a traffic stop.

According to the criminal complaint, police pulled over a car traveling on Don Knotts Boulevard Thursday after noticing it did not have its lights on during rain and foggy weather. When speaking to the driver, 32-year-old Thelonious Forbes Jr., the officer could smell raw marijuana in the car.

According to officials, officers asked Forbes and the passenger, 26-year-old Chad Johnson, to get out of the car and then deployed a K9. 7.6 grams of marijuana was found in the car. Police say Johnson admitted to having the marijuana and said he and Forbes were going to Charleston to sell it.

Forbes and Johnson are currently in North Central Regional Jail.
