UPDATE: Another arrest made in connection to Marion County murder
Another person has been charged in connection to the 2018 murder of a Marion County man.
According to the criminal complaint, 38-year-old Charles Carpenter admitted to removing Luka Grabb from Dally Drive after he had been shot and dropping him on Pinchgut Hollow Road.
Carpenter told police that he was aware that a confrontation was going to take place before the shooting, but was not aware of the nature of the confrontation.
Carpenter is charged with accessory before the fact to 1st-degree murder.
Previously, James Vincent and Vernon Carpenter have been charged with first-degree murder. Russell Kirk was charged with accessory to murder.
Two men were charged in the murder of a Marion County man this week.
Police say the shooting happened Tuesday on Dally Drive shortly after midnight.
James Vincent, 29, was charged with first-degree murder. Russell Kirk, 36, was charged with accessory to murder.
The victim was 32-year-old Luka Grabb of Marion County.
According to the criminal complaint, Vincent and Kirk invited Grabb over to Vincent's house. Police said Kirk had a recording suggesting Grabb planned to rob Vincent.
Police aren't releasing what the contents Grabb was planning to rob, but said no drugs were found at the scene.
According to the criminal complaint, when Grabb arrived to Vincent's house, they got into a verbal fight. Police said Kirk acted as backup for Vincent.
During the fight, Vincent allegedly shot Grabb multiple times around 12:05 a.m.
Fairmont City Police discovered the body dropped off along Pinchgut Hollow Road.
According to the Sheriff's Office, more arrests may be made as the investigation continues. Police could press charges related to conspiracy or accessory after the fact.
