Two more suspects arrested in connection with fatal Fairmont shooting

FAIRMONT, W.Va (WDTV) - Authorities have arrested two additional suspects in connection to the shooting death of a man that happened in November.

According to the Fairmont Chief of Police, 31-year-old Timothy Lambert and 33-year-old Cassie Lambert were arrested late Thursday night. The couple was taken into custody at a hotel, which was listed under an accomplices name.

The shooting incident happened on November 17th on Watson Avenue. When authorities arrived on the scene they found 27-year-old Malcolm Whitted, of Detroit, lying in an apartment with multiple gunshot wounds. He later died as a result of his injuries.

Authorities say drugs were involved in this incident. They also arrested 25-year-old Devon Stephens, of Fairmont, Tuesday night in connection to the incident.

Timothy Lambert is facing First Degree Murder charges, while Cassie Lambert is facing Obstruction charges. Both are being held in the North Central Regional Jail awaiting arraignment.

The victim appears to have been targeted and the general public is not in any danger.
