Dominion Energy has released further information about a gas line fire that sparked in Sun Valley, Thursday night.

According to a company statement, personnel determined it was a six-inch, low-pressure gathering line that caught fire. Crews were able to isolate the leak by closing valves on each side of the fire to allow it to burn itself out. The flames were put out early Friday morning.

No injuries were reported.

Officials say a lightning strike likely was the cause, but an investigation is still underway. The fire was in a remote area and was of no threat to the public.

Dominion Energy personnel plan was on scene Friday morning working to repair the section of pipe.
