FAIRMONT, W.Va (WDTV)- The fight for health, education and financial stability in Marion County is headed to the next level. This fall the United Way Campaign is working to raise $475,000, the highest goal yet.
The United Way of Marion County met with local leaders Tuesday to kick off the 2018 campaign. The theme this year: Be the One. Campaign Chairman Tina Shaw says we are all a big part of this community and you can be the one that makes a difference.
"One person can make such a big difference in your community and all it takes is one person,” Campaign Chairman Tina Shaw said. “One donation, one hour of volunteerism, just one person to help someone in need."
The campaign has already raised 20% of their goal, reaching over $95,000. However, there is still a long way to go. If you would like to donate or participate, reach out to Brett White, Executive Director, at firstname.lastname@example.org or select the “donate” box on uwmarion.org.
