UPDATE: Car in high-speed multi-county chase was reported stolen

LEWIS COUNTY, W.Va (WDTV)-- UPDATE 7/8/18 5:10 p.m.
According to the Fairmont Police Department, the car in the high-speed multi-county chase Monday afternoon was reported stolen.

According to the detective division, officers recieved a complaint about a stolen car from a resident on Locust Avenue Monday morning. The car was spotted driving on Pennsylvania Avenue later in the day.

According to police, they tried to stop the car, but the driver failed and officers initiated a pursuit.

Officers from several agencies assisted during the pursuit.

According to Fairmont police, the pursuit ended at a dead end road in Weston. The driver of the vehicle, Damien Connell of Baxter was arrested State Police, and the vehicle was recovered.

State Police are charging Connell with fleeing with reckless endangerment. Charges from other agencies are to be determined.

Police were led on a high-speed multi county chase Monday afternoon.

According to Fairmont Police Chief Steve Shine the pursuit started in Fairmont and ended on Court Avenue in Weston.

Police say the driver of the vehicle was apprehended.

There was a three county vehicle pursuit from Marion to Lewis County Monday afternoon.

Police started pursuing a maroon Chrysler 200 in Fairmont. The pursuit ended Weston.
