CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WDTV) -- Some state residents will soon see an increase in their water and sewage costs.
Rate increases for West Virginia American Water Company customers will begin on February 25th. Customers will see an average increase of $6.65 or 14% on their monthly water bill. An increase of $8.33 or 17.5% will be applied to the monthly sewer bills.
The increase in rates was put into a joint stipulation approved by The Public Service Commission of West Virginia Friday. Officials say the stipulation also will reset the company's Distribution System Improvement Charge rate mechanism to zero. Distribution System Improvement Charge
