WVU gets nearly $4 million for research funds

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WDTV) — WVU research is being bolstered by nearly $4 million.

The West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission announced the grants to help build additional research strength and work towards commercial products over a five year period.

According to the press release, with the funds, the WVU Center for Innovation in Gas Research and Utilization will pursue the advancement of science and engineering for localized gas utilization.

Researchers have established the WVU Vaccine Development Center to combat the spread of infectious diseases

WVU is also creating the Center for Cognitive Computing, which will be a multidisciplinary research center for excellence.
