BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. (WDTV) - We started off the work week on a cold note with temperatures struggling to climb out of the 30's yesterday. A little bit of sunshine has returned for today, but clouds will be making another appearance late tonight ahead of our next rain maker.
High pressure has kicked clouds out of the region for now and temperatures are rising into the middle 40's for highs across the area today. Southerly flow as high pressure north of us continues to slide east is bringing back some warmth for today, tomorrow, and especially into Thursday. The average high for this time of year in Clarksburg is 42 degrees and we will be close to 20 degrees above that for Thursday.
Our next rain maker will be bringing some rain into our region starting as early as tonight and sticking around through Friday. Some of the rain could be heavy at times especially Thursday into Thursday evening. Rain showers will taper off Friday evening but as temperatures dramatically cool, some could end as snow showers.
