Weekend-long motorcycle rally kicks off in Bridgeport

HARRISON COUNTY, W. Va. (WDTV) - The West Virginia chapter of the Golden Road Rider Association is hosting their annual rally in Bridgeport this year.

Terri Stanley, one of the district directors of the West Virginia chapter, and he husband Bruce say the scenery of West Virginia is a big draw for many bikers.

"People come here from other states to our rally mainly because they love riding in West Virginia, for the scenery,"

In addition to group rides the rally also includes evenings of entertainment from local artists

Local vendors are set up at the Bridgeport conference center for riders to enjoy as well.

The rally is also an educational event.

Courses in rider education and safety will be held over the next few days including one on Saturday at Robert C. Byrd high school.

Those who didn't pre-register can still show up for a day pass, and motorcycles of all kinds are welcome.

The rally will continue from today through Saturday evening.
