West Union man allegedly breaks into his mother's garage, steals UTV

DODDRIDGE COUNTY, W. Va. (WDTV) -- A west union man is facing breaking and entering charges after deputies in Doddridge County say he broke into his mother's garage and stole her UTV.

Deputies arrested Kristopher Burton.

According to the criminal complaint, The John Deere Gator UTV was inside a garage on Pike Fork Road. Burton allegedly used a knife to break the lock, then unscrewed the bolts to the garage door to get inside.

Deputies later found Burton with the UTV at a home on Ten Mile Road in Harrison County. According to the complaint, Burton told deputies e did break into the garage and stole the vehicle.

Burton is in jail on a $5,000 bond.
