CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Governor Jim Justice recognized the 2019 West Virginia Teacher of the Year Thursday morning.

Jada Reeves, a 5th grade teacher at Bradley Elementary School, was named teacher of the year and received nearly $30,000 for the achievement.

Reeves has been teaching for 16 years, with the last three at Bradley, and says most of the money will go towards the people who made it possible for her to win the award.

Jada also received access to a Toyota RAV4 to use throughout the year.
