UPDATE: Traffic stop leads to unrelated arrests after alleged shooting incident

Thursday morning, members of the Weston Police Department responded to the Craig Street area in reference to a possible shooting.
While at the scene, officers were given a description of a vehicle. Cpl. Clark of the Weston detachment of the West Virginia State Police located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on US Route 33 East near Marketplace Mall.
Police said that the car that was stopped near Marketplace Mall had fled the scene of a confrontation where a gun was fired in the Craig Street area. No one was hurt in the alleged shooting.
According to police, four people were in the car that was pulled over and Michael Lough, Laura Gainer, and Mindy Stalknaker were arrested on unrelated charges. The Weston Police Department is still investigating the shooting incident.
The Weston Police Department was assisted by members of the Weston Detachment of the West Virginia State Police and the Lewis County Sheriff's Office.
