Woman arrested, two taken to hospital after head-on collision in Buckhannon

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. (WDTV)-- A woman was arrested and two people were taken to the hospital after a head-on collision on South Kanawha Street Tuesday evening.

According to the criminal complaint, Brandi Morris was driving a 2010 Subaru Legacy and went into the center line where she hit a 2005 Porsche Cayenne. A man and his 8-year-old son were in the Porsche.

According to police, Morris had bloodshot, glassy and dilated eyes and her movements were very erratic.

Police say Morris was not able to respond coherently to simple conversations.

Police say Morris had a blank stare and dry mouth. She was taken to the hospital for treatment before being booked.

According to the criminal complaint, the driver of the Porsche and his son were taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital with undetermined injuries.

Morris has been charged with DUI, no insurance and no operators license and is currently being held at Tygart Valley Regional Jail with bail set at $12,500.
