Woman charged after allegedly stealing neighborhood's mail

RANDOLPH COUNTY, W.Va. (WDTV) -- A 26-year-old woman has been charged after allegedly stealing mail from a neighborhood.

According to the Randolph County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the Huttonsville area after a witness saw a woman with a black truck with a pink clothes basket taking mail from mailboxes in their neighborhood.

While on the way to the scene, officials found the truck and the suspect--who was identified as Lori Gaines. The stolen mail was recovered.

An investigation is ongoing.

Gaines is charged with receiving or transferring stolen property.
