Wood county murder suspect caught after car chase

A Wood County murder suspect has been apprehended by police near Sutton Lake in Braxton County after a car chase.

State Police say 46-year old Jeffrey Sampson is in custody. No officers were hurt in his capture.

Sampson is the suspect in a shooting that happened Tuesday morning on Nova Road in Mineral Wells. Two people have died as a result of this shooting. The identities of the victims have not been released.

Glenville State College in Gilmer County was placed on lockdown during the chase. The lockdown was lifted after an hour.
