Alek Manoah Drafted 11th Overall By Toronto in MLB Draft

First team All-American and Big 12 pitcher of the year Alek Manoah was selected 11th overall in Monday night's MLB draft by the Toronto Blue Jays.

He ties Chris Enochs as West Virginia's highest MLB draft pick in school history. Enochs, a right handed pitcher who was selected 11th by the Oakland Athletics in 1997,spent 9 years playing professional baseball.

Manoah led the Big 12 with a 2.08 ERA his season and set a single season West Virginia record with 144 strike outs. He also made conference history, becoming the first pitcher to win Big 12 pitcher of the Week three consecutive times.
