The Black Bears defeated Williamsport, 6-2 in the series opener. With the victory, West Virginia improves to 11-9 overall.
Second baseman Dean Lockery went 2-for-3 with a run scored and a walk. Michael Burrows improved to 2-1 on the mound allowing one earned run over five innings with five strikeouts.
