Fairmont State Splits Series with Wheeling Jesuit

It was an up and down weekend for the Fairmont State baseball team as the squad split a four-game series with Wheeling Jesuit on Saturday and Sunday at the Bridgeport Recreation Complex.

On Sunday, the Fighting Falcons' bats started hot as they beat the Cardinals, 15-2. But in the afternoon game it was a different story, as the Falcons dropped the tail end of the double header, 8-5.

Fairmont won Saturday's opener, 3-0, before falling to Wheeling in the second game, 3-2.

Fairmont is now 16-15 overall and 7-9 in MEC play. The Falcons return to action for a four-game series with Notre Dame this weekend.
