Fairmont State WBB's Steve Mcdonald Retires

After 19 seasons at the helm for the Fairmont State Lady Falcons, Steve Mcdonald is hanging up the towel. Mcdonald retired today as the winningest coach in program history with 367 victories. He led the Falcons to their first NCAA tournament appearance in 2005, and posted 16 straight winning seasons with the Falcons.

Stephanie Anderson has been named interim head coach at Fairmont State University, effective immediately. Anderson has served as assistant women’s basketball coach at Fairmont State for the past five seasons.

Fairmont State Athletics released a statement saying the national search for a new head coach will begin in the coming days.
