2017 Alderson Broaddus graduate and former Battler pitcher Randy Dobnak is headed to the show.
Dobnak is set to be promoted to the Minnesota Twins on Thursday after catapulting his way through the minor leagues in 2019. Less than three years removed from being an undrafted free agent out of Phillipi, Dobnak began the season with Single A Fort Myers. After posting a combined 2.02 ERA with 102 strike outs, the righty is getting his shot at the pros. He will be added to the Minnesota Twins 40-man roster on Thursday and make his MLB debut at some point this season.
The South Park, Pa. native pitched for the Battlers from 2014-17 and put together a combined 2.61 ERA over four years with a 26-12 record and 284 strike outs.
