Robert C. Byrd hosted the 12th annual Flying Eagle shootout on Tuesday, which gave teams a chance to play in a competitive setting and take a look at the new talent that will fill their rosters in the upcoming season.
For RCB, rising sophomore Jeremiah King, who was an explosive running back for the Flying Eagles during his rookie season, is bringing his talents to the hardwood. King displayed his versatility as a scoring threat and explosive defender in today's games.
It was also a first look at the post-Mike Robey era for Bridgeport boys basketball. Assistant coach Zak Bart is coaching the Tribe during their three-week period and is hoping for the opportunity to become the head coach in the fall.
Notre Dame was also in action in the evening session of the shootout. Head Coach Jarrod West will have to replace 10 seniors from this past season including 4/5 of his starting lineup. The Irish youth movement was on display against Greater Beckley Christian.
