Glenville State Wins Back-to-Back MEC Titles, Earns Top Seed in Atlantic Region

Behind a team-high 23 points from Ty Armstrong, the Glenville State Lady Pioneers (29-2) won their second consecutive MEC title, defeating Charleston (25-6), 78-69 on Sunday at WesBanco Arena.

Emily Stoller added 21 and Re'Shawna Stone, who was named tournament MVP, had 17 in the championship game with 4 assists. Armstrong was named to the All-Tournament team.

Glenville State earned the No. 1 seed in the Atlantic Region in the NCAA DII tournament and will host No. 8 West Liberty, who the Pioneers already beat in the semifinals of the MEC tournament, in the opening round.
