After a historic and record breaking season & career with WVU Football, Will Grier is back to square one with the Carolina Panthers, in his first NFL training camp this August.
He is not part of a quarterback battle. Cam Newton is the starting QB in Carolina, but Grier has embraced his role and has taken a very healthy approach to being QB2, which is something he is not really accustomed to.
"You don't go to the hall of fame on day 1," Grier said. "I've just tried to look at the big picture. This is a wonderful opportunity the Panthers gave me. It's not about me. It's about helping the Panthers win games, and right now the best thing I can do is consistently come out here and work hard and learn from my mistakes and be a reliable guy for this football team."
Grier will have a chance to play in his first NFL game when the Panthers open their preseason docket at the Chicago Bears on Thursday.
