MORGANTOWN, W.VA (WDTV) - (Includes comments from John Calipari, Bob Huggins, 'Beetle' Bolden & Hamidou Diallo - UK footage courtesy of WKYT)
As much as the coaches and players will try to treat tomorrow's matchup between WVU and Kentucky just like 1 of 31 regular season games, this one is different. It is the showcase matchup of the Big 12/SEC Challenge. ESPN's College Gameday is in town. The Bob Huggins annual Fish Fry to benefit the WVU Cancer Center is sold out tonight with John Calipari in attendance. To get a ticket for this game, fans had to purchase a season or partial season package. Expect a caffeinated atmosphere tomorrow night.
The Mountaineers have hosted their share of heavyweight teams so far this season. And to be frank, Kentucky is not playing up to their normal standards. The Wildcats have fallen out of the AP Top 25 but they are still 15-5 with a roster of inexperienced but skilled players.
Covington, Kentucky native James "Beetle" Bolden will gets his first chance to compete against his state school.
Kentucky has played the "bluebloods" like UCLA, Kansas and Louisville and they have seen some tough venues on the road in the SEC. John Calipari is doing his best to prepare his young 'Cats for what they will see in Morgantown.
