With a runner on first and a tie ballgame in the bottom of the eighth inning, Bridgeport's Paige Humble did exactly what she had to. The Bridgeport sophomore smacked a ball into the left field corner, and Corinne Lalama chugged all the way from first base to score, as the Indians (9-0) beat the North Marion Huskies (4-6) in extra inning, 8-7.
North Marion rallied from 3 down in the 7th inning to tie the game at 7 a piece on 2 RBIs from Cara Minor and another from Rylee Collins to force a bottom of the inning. Minor worked a scoreless seventh on the mound to force extra innings.
Emily Riggs hit her third home run of the season, a 2-run shot, to give Bridgeport a 6-3 lead in the fifth inning.
