Montgomery, Second Half Surge Powers Falcons over Cardinals

Vonte Montgomery dropped 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as Fairmont State (15-4, 12-1) downed Wheeling Jesuit (2-17, 1-12), 88-64.

The Fighting Falcons have won four straight games.

The Cardinals cut the Falcons lead to 2 with 10:47 to play in the game, but Fairmont responded in the form of a 23-3 run that spanned nearly 6 minutes to give them 79-57 advantage with 4:25 to play.

Kenzie Melko, Jason Jolly and Cole VanHandorf all chipped in 12 points for Fairmont.
