Notre Dame Upset in First Round by Parkersburg Catholic, 58-56

Despite a valiant comeback effort, No. 3 Notre Dame fell to No. 6 Parkersburg Catholic in the quarterfinal round of the A state tournament, 58-56, on Wednesday morning.

After trailing 28-16 at the half, the Irish closed to within 5 points at the end of the third quarter, and came within three on multiple occasions in the fourth, but could not close the gap for good. Jaidyn West's three at the buzzer closed the margin to two.

Cade Ullman led the Crusaders with a game-high 33 points, including 16 in the first half.

Freshman point guard Jaidyn West had 24 points, while Nate Helm added 13 with 9 rebounds. Senior forward Gabe Zummo tallied 11 points and 14 boards in his final high school game.
