The tight end position for West Virginia football is on notice. WVU redshirt junior tight end Jovani Haskins has been named to the John Mackey Award Preseason Watch List for the best collegiate tight end.
Haskins played in 12 games in 2018 with 16 catches for 148 yards and one touchdown. The New Jersey native had to redshirt in 2017 after transffering from the University of Miami.
Haskins will try to step in and fill the shoes of current New York Jet and former WVU tight end, Trevon Wesco, who broke out for the Mountaineers last year with 26 catches for 366 yards and a touchdown. Wesco was selected 121st overall in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
