Tancas homers, drives in another, Black Bears beat Spikes 3-0

GRANVILLE, W.Va. (WDTV) - (Black Bears Release)
The West Virginia Black Bears defeated the State College Spikes 3-0 Thursday night.

Gavin Wallace picked up the win and threw five scoreless innings for the Black Bears. The Black Bears limited the Spikes to only six hits all game.

Lucas Tancas had his finger prints all over Thursday’s game. He doubled to right field in the bottom of the second inning and was brought home on an RBI double by Jose Barraza. Later in the fifth, Tancas lead the inning off with a solo home run to give the Black Bears a 2-0 lead. That home run was his second in the last two games.

The Black Bears extended their lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the sixth inning when Tancas knocked in Tristan Gray with an RBI single to centerfield.

Joel Cesar earned his fifth Save of the season in the win.
