University Wins First State Title in Program History

For the first time in school history, the University boys basketball team can call itself a state champion.

The Hawks beat undefeated Martinsburg, 51-45, in Saturday night's state championship game.

K.J. McClurg led all scorers with 20 points, while Kaden Metheny added 15 with 7 assists. Senior Rodney Bucklew closed out his high school career with 10 points and 5 rebounds.

Teddy Marshall led Martinsburg with 17 points.
