After a historic 2019 campaign for WVU baseball, the Mountaineers have continued to win in the summer months.
West Virginia baseball's 2019 signing class received a ranking of No. 21 in the nation by Perfect Game USA on Tuesday, the highest national ranking for a recruiting class in program history. This is the first time the Mountaineers have even been in the Top 25.
The 17 player recruiting class includes two players that were drafted in the 2019 MLB draft but elected to enroll at WVU. They are left-handed pitcher Daniel Batcher (Lakeland, Florida), who was chosen in the 33rd round by the Toronto Blue Jays and catcher/infielder Matt McCormick (Orland Park, Illinois) who went in the 40th round to the Cincinnati Reds.
WVU tallied 38 wins, second-most in single-season team history, appeared in the program's 13th NCAA Championship and was selected as a regional host for the first time since 1955.
