WVU Football Moving Forward After Flood of Transfers

The NCAA transfer portal was a popular place for Mountaineers in June, as the tally of football transfers under Coach Neal Brown seemed to keep increasing. But the flip side of that is six players have transferred into the program under the new headman.

Players said there is no bad blood with the players who left the program, because they are making the "right decision for themselves."

"They were my brothers when they were here and they are my brothers when they leave," redshirt junior wide receiver and former Alabama transfer T.J. Simmons said. "Whenever they decided to leave, I just wanted to support them so they could be the best that they can be."

Other players also admitted that since some of the players who chose to leave Morgantown were probable starters, it motivates them to step up their game.

"It just makes you work harder because you know they were important keys to the team last year," junior offensive lineman Josh Sills said.
